It’s National Bath Safety Month

January is bath Safety Month! Good looks and style are important, but take this time to make sure your bathroom(s) are safe for all ages.

SmartControl Keeps the Heat Under Control
GROHE SmartControl has taken proactive measures to ensure its operation is easy and hazard-free by incorporating GROHE technologies that keep you and your family safe.

Safety Features:

  • SmartControl featuresTurboStat technology. It delivers water at the desired temperature within a fraction of a second and keeps it constant for the duration of your shower. No more scorching hot water any time someone flushes the toilet!
  • GROHE CoolTouch cooling channels create a barrier and eliminate the risk of scalding on the base of the system.

Stay Safe While Listening to Music in the Shower
A recent poll revealed that 63% of people listen to music in the shower. It is very important to use a water resistant device for playing music to avoid the risk of electronic accidents.

GROHE Aquatunes shower speaker is a great solution as it has been designed to be water resistant. The Aquatunes speaker connects with mobile devices via Bluetooth – within a range of up to 25 ft. Just press the sync button to connect and stream music from your mobile device. Now you and your phone can stay safe.

GROHE Concetto is ADA Compliant
Many of our Concetto bath line products are ADA compliant and provide the level of safety and accessibility you need, without compromising on style.

ADA Features:

  • The Concetto XS Centerset and Wideset bath faucets are less than 6” in height to easily accommodate medicine cabinets in ADA applications.
  • GROHE SilkMove® cartridge and actuation force below 5lbs/22.2N for precise handling and ease of use.

Other stay-safe measures:

Electricity
Make sure that all the electrical outlets in the bathroom have ground fault circuit interrupters — electrical switches and plugs should be at a safe distance from water sources.

Prevent Slips

  • Affix a slip-resistant plastic mat that suctions to the bottom of your tub and make sure to secure a throw rug outside of the tub that will not slide when stepped on.
  • Install a grab bar for better support when stepping in and out of the bath.

Lighting
Install lights or a nightlight leading to your bathroom. Some toilets and sinks now have LED lights built in.

Grab Bars

Towel bars, soap dishes and shower doors aren’t meant to hold you up if you slip. Place grab bars or rails in or around the bathtub, shower and toilet. They’ll help you balance as you stand or sit and give you something to hold on to if you need it.
